Acer announces Aspire One 533 netbook
On Monday, Acer revealed the latest update to its netbook range, the Aspire One 533.
The netbook has a 10.1-inch screen with a choice of 1,280x720-pixel (WXGA) or 1,024x600-pixel (WSVGA) resolutions. Two Intel Atom processors are available for the device: the 1.66GHz N455 and the 1.83GHz N475.
Other options include a 3G module and Bluetooth 3.0, and up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM. Hard-drive capacity options are 160GB and 250GB.
The Aspire One 533 has an HDMI-out port for streaming to a high-definition TV set.
The netbook also comes with what Acer calls a "travel-friendly" adaptor, in that it comes with interchangeable AC converters. The Aspire One 533 weighs 1.1kg or 1.25kg depending on whether a three- or six-cell battery is chosen. The three-cell battery gives up to four hours of use, while the six-cell battery gives up to 10 hours, according to Acer.
The Aspire One 533 will go on sale from 1 July. UK pricing is yet to be announced.
