    The Nest works with Amazon Alexa's voice control and will light up if it sees you to show you the time, temperature or weather. It learns the temperatures you like and programs itself after about a week of usage.

    It automatically turns itself down when there is no one home. You can connect your thermostat to Wi‑Fi to control the temperature from your phone, tablet or laptop. The app also shows you how much energy you use and why.

    It will deliver the news, reports traffic and weather, and give info on local businesses, or sports scores and schedules. The Echo can control lights, switches, and thermostats with compatible smart home devices.

    Mattel Aristotle

    Coming in 2017, Aristotle is a connected kids room platform designed for parents to use AI to look after their children. It is a voice activated hub, camera and a smart light system.

    The Wi-Fi camera has object recognition and movement detection which can automatically play a lullaby and turn lights on dim when it hears a sleeping baby begin to cry.

    For a toddler, the lighting system will light up green or red to acknowledge if the child has answered a question correctly during a voice activated learning lesson.
