ST Electronics were one of the exhibitors that showcased their offerings during the pre-show tour. An executive gave a demo of its flood monitoring system, which forms part of its Safe City product.

Using intelligent sensor grids, the system monitors water levels and weather conditions and alerts the system when water levels are high. The system would also suggest a range of actions for the organization to undertake, including checking the river status, viewing the river overflow projection, dispatching emergency response teams and alerting the public.

At the OTT (over the top) lounge at BroadcastAsia, Mark Johns, product director at Switch Media, demonstrated how viewers can interact with commercials using their smartphones.
