For the purposes of my SSD tests, I decided to build an SSD-only PC using Ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron. The SSDs are recognized just like 32GB hard disks, no other special software or procedures are required. Performance is comparable to a regular SATA2 hard disk, with far less power consumption.
