The Nokia N97, a device that Nokia calls a "smart computer" made its debut at NokiaWorld in Barcelona on Tuesday. The $695 N97 is Nokia's attempt to fill the gap between a smartphone and a laptop, according to Larry Dignan.

Matthew Miller says the Nokia N97 either brings a QWERTY keyboard and touch screen to Nokia's N-series or brings a phone and S60 to the Nokia Internet Tablet.

According to Matthew Miller, "Using the GPS receiver and integrated compass the N97 has the capability to always know where it is located and with social networking integration it can broadcast that position to authorized friends and family." It's a concept called social location (so-lo).
