Hands-on with the T-Mobile G2 Android smartphone

The T-Mobile G2 is the newest Android device on T-Mobile and supports their new HSPA+ high speed data network. The G2 is made by HTC, but is flavored with Google apps and utilities. The unique hinge mechanism reveals a full QWERTY keyboard.

The volume button and microUSB port are found on the left side.

A power button and the 3.5mm headset jack are placed on the top of the G2.

A back battery lock switch and dedicated camera capture button are found on the right side.

The keyboard is revealed from under the display and the three metal customizable buttons are easily visible.

Two more customizable buttons are on the right while we have another alt and shift button as well.

The keys have good spacing and tactile feedback.

The hinge allows the display to swing up and over the top of the device before landing back down.

After shifting up and over, the display is now flush with the keyboard.

The Touch Pro 2 had one of the best QWERTY keyboards available and as you can see in the comparison it still does.
