Huawei Mate X2, OnePlus Nord CE 5G, Dell XPS 13 9310, and more: ZDNet's reviews roundup

The Huawei Mate X2 is an astounding device, with top specifications, a solid build and an 8-inch inner screen that's simply amazing. But it's likely to command a very high price, and will still be hampered by the absence of Google Mobile Services. It's also relatively heavy.

A 90Hz AMOLED screen, great battery life and fast charging are good features, but dropping the Alert Slider and Gorilla Glass feel like missteps that might give this handset a hard time standing out in the crowded affordable-5G sector.

Dell's XPS 13 has long been a highly regarded ultraportable, and the Intel Evo-branded 9310 version, based on 11-generation (Tiger Lake) Core processors, is no different. Overall, the Dell XPS 13 9310, like its predecessor, gets an 'Outstanding' recommendation from ZDNet.

The Portégé X30L-J is among the lightest ultraportables we've reviewed, yet there's no shortage of ports and connectors. The ePrivacy filter is only available on the top-end model. That might not matter to everyone, but the noisy keyboard and fan probably will.

The HP Spectre x360 14 has a solid if occasionally quirky hardware design. Even at the entry level this is a premium-priced laptop, but if you value screen quality and need a versatile 2-in-1 design, then it's definitely recommended.

The Moto G100 supports 5G, has a large screen that's easy on the eye, the two front cameras add more selfie flexibility than usual, and general use is, as usual with Moto phones, pleasantly free of bloatware. The key problem with the Moto G100 isn't the handset itself, but the competition.

The last QWERTY keyboard phone from Unihertz was an unwieldy beast, while the new small pocket version is reminiscent of the BlackBerry Bold. There are some cool keyboard functions, but it's tough to see a reason for this phone in today's market.

Lenovo's IdeaPad Duet Chromebook is neat, portable, and functional. It's a solid 2-in-1 Chromebook that does double duty as a standalone tablet. Considering the keyboard and kickstand are bundled, it offers very good value for money.

This is a tablet that's better left to serve as an entertainment device, with the occasional email or document typed out on the keyboard. There are just too many concessions, with apps and performance, for it to truly earn its productivity namesake.

The Elipsa employs the clean, user-friendly and navigable interface of other Kobo ebook readers. Its versatility is great – it's as easy to read loaned library books as those bought from the Kobo store. The handwriting features are basic but well implemented. It's a very good device.

If you're in the market for a low-cost computer for a bit of coding or some web browsing, then the Raspberry Pi 400 will be the machine for you. It's quick to get going, easy to use, and makes a perfectly credible Linux desktop PC - all at an extremely affordable price.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds are 10% lighter than the Mark 3 version with a 40% smaller charging case. They are not inexpensive at $279.99, but they offer amazing audio performance, crystal-clear calling support, useful technologies, and very long battery life.

Good case and bud design and respectable battery life are offset by somewhat unreliable touch controls and a lack of bass tones for serious music listening. Still, Huawei fans with access to its app store might find them an attractive purchase.

While a smartphone camera is great, there is clearly a market for an action camera that is much more portable, more durable, and more affordable. The mounting options seem almost limitless and provide content creators with the ability to be creative with the capture and editing of footage.
