The BB Curve 8900 box is a fairly standard T-Mobile package with some of the features highlighted on the back.

There are manuals and a Tips & Tricks brochure on top of the Curve when you open the box.

The Curve rests underneath all of the manuals.

T-Mobile and RIM include a slip case, charger, USB cable, and headset in the box.

The Curve 8900 looks similar to the existing Curve 8320, but has a better keyboard, display, and wireless radios.

The keyboard is much like what we see on the Bold with good spacing and button design.

The left side of the keyboard shows the shift key, Alt button, and red number keys.

The space bar is centered on the keyboard with a right shift and Sym button found here too.

A mute button is integrated into the upper black part of the device. I actually missed this button at first and only discovered it as I searched for a mute button.

A lock button is integrated into the top left side.

The left side convenience button is found just above the halfway point and is set to launch the voice dialing application by default.

The back is plastic with a gray brushed metal look.

The sides and bottom back are coated in smooth rubber. The T-Mobile logo is also found on the bottom piece.

The BlackBerry icon and 3.2 megapixel camera are located along the top back of the Curve.

A 1380 mAh battery is found under the back cover. The battery must also be removed to replace the SIM card.

The back cover needs to come off, but the battery can remain in place to swap out the microSD card. You will need two hands to flip open the catch on the Curve to replace the microSD card.

RIM updated the display and I would probably pick up a new Curve to replace the old model just for the amazing 2.44 inch 480x360 pixels display.

The new Curve 8900 has about the same features and specs as the Bold, but is narrower and feels great in your hand.

The E71, BB Curve 8900, Blackjack II, and Palm Treo Pro are hot QWERTY keyboard devices.

From top to bottom we find the Palm Treo Pro, Blackjack II, BB Curve 8900, and Nokia E71.

The Curve 8900 and Palm Treo Pro are about the same width with the E71 still taking the crown for the thinnest device.

The E71 is one of my favorite QWERTY devices and compares well with the Curve 8900.

You can see the Curve 8900 has better keyboard spacing than the E71.
