Google Earth begins with a satellite view of the world. You can rotate the globe using your mouse and zoom in or out using your mouse wheel.
You can find many locations by typing the name of a locale and searching for it--although the north view can sometimes be confusing.
Fortunately, you can rotate an image up to 360 degrees to make it easier to see. Also, icons at the bottom help you to find nearby commercial sites.
Sights of interest are highlighted on your map, which can be printed.
Google Earth will find locations throughout the world. In many places, a pop-up window will help you find more information about the site.
