What follows are pictures of the unboxing of both items, and how they work together. Enjoy!

The following is an unboxing of an 3rd Generation iPad, ordered directly from Apple, with 64GB and Verizon 4G installed. There's also a Smart Cover that was ordered to go with the iPad.

What follows are pictures of the unboxing of both items, and how they work together. Enjoy!

The box is here, the box is here! In a plain brown wrapper, no less.

The thinner box is the Smart Cover. That came earlier in the week.

A peek inside the iPad's brown box shows...an iPad!

It's protected by simple, cardboard bumpers.

You can see the Apple logo on one side of the box.

The iCloud logo was important enough to Apple to put on the other side of the box.

And there it is, the iPad peeking out from its white box.

Here's the full iPad, with its plastic coating.

Contained inside is a little literature pack, and a wall plug.

Removing the literature pack, we see a USB cable.

Besides the iPad itself, here's all you get.

The literature also includes instructions for removing the SIM card (yep, 4G, baby!)

And here's the strangest little iPad accessory you'll ever find, used to push out the SIM card.

And here's the plastic coming off.

After all the punditry's speculation, there is, indeed, a Home button.

This thing is better protected than the iPad, inside a cardboard box, inside a plastic box.

Here's the back of the plastic Smart Cover box.

You need to lift up this little tab and pull it out from the front.

Here's the open package for the Smart Cover.

And here's the Smart Cover itself, in the package.

Here's a side view of the Smart Cover, notice the metal magnet connector.

And here's a long view, which is generally how you'll be using it.

Now, attached to the iPad, it adds very little except the small metal band.

Here's the front side, on the iPad

6351708.jpg

It really can hold up the iPad.

6351769.jpg

I wouldn't recommend standing up the iPad this way, but it works (but isn't really all that stable)

6351770.jpg

Here's the fold-over format of the Smart Cover.

And, finally, we're ready to actually use the iPad.
