Nine Windows 10 tablets from companies you've never heard of

Europe's budget tablet brands have constantly improved their products over the past years. Now, they're among the first to cross the finish line in announcing Windows 10 tablets.

Modecom FreeTAB 8025 IPS IB WIN 10

Better known as a PC case manufacturer, the Warsaw, Poland-based Modecom claims to have built the first native Windows 10 tablet in Europe.

The FreeTAB 8025 has an eight-inch 1280 x 800 pixels screen and is equipped with a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of flash memory, and a 5,500 mAh battery.

Price: around ZLN 350 (€84)

Prestigio Multipad Visconte 10

This 10.1-inch 1280 x 800p IPS tablet sports a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F SoC. It comes with 1GB #or 2GB of RAM, plus either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of flash memory. It also packs a 7,000mAh battery.

The Multipad Visconte 10 will be released in the third quarter of this year. Pre-orders are already open, and the tablet can be bought along with a keyboard.

The company the owns the Prestigio brand, ASBIS, was founded in Belarus in 1990, but five years later it moved its headquarter to Limassol, Cyprus. It started selling tablets in 2011.

Price: $179 (€160) for the 1GB of RAM, 16GB flash, w-fi only model

Allview Impera i10G

Romanian brand Allview started shipping four Windows 10 tablets on July 30 and the Impera i10G is the most expensive of the bunch.

It comes with a 9.7-inch 2048x1536p IPS screen, a quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of flash memory. It also has the advantage of a microSD card expansion slot. The Impera i10G carries a 8,000 mAh battery and has a five-megapixel rear camera and a two-megapixel front camera.

Allview is the number one tablet brand in Romania, offering affordable devices. It has a market share almost equal to that of Samsung in the country, and three times that of Apple.

Price: RON 1199 (€272)

Allview Wi8G

The Wi8G is the most budget-friendly Windows 10 tablet currently sold by Allview.

It has a 1280x800p 8-inch screen, quad-core Intel processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of flash memory. It comes with microSD slot and has a 3,800mAh battery. Specs also include two two-megapixel cameras, and a SIM card slot.

Allview's Wi8G is available in two colours: black and white.

The brand has been selling tablets since 2010 in Romania, however it has recently expanded its business to Poland, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, as well as the Netherlands.

Price: RON 649 (€147)

VisionBook 10Wi Plus

UMAX's native Windows 10 tablet will be launched in the Czech Republic at the end of August. It's a 10.1-inch 1280x800p IPS device, with quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F SoC, 2GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. It comes with two two-megapixel cameras, a microSD slot expandable to up to 64GB, and a 7,000mAh battery.

The VisionBook 10Wi Plus will feature a pogo keyboard and users will have Office 365 for free, UMAX told ZDNet.

Price: €189 without VAT

Vivax WIN TPC-101003G

Croatians will soon be able to get their hands on this 10.1-inch Windows 10 3G tablet, which comes with a stylus and a keyboard.

Specs include an IPS 1280x800p touchscreen, an Intel quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of flash memory with microSD card. The rear camera is five megapixels, while the front one is two megapixels. The device has a 8,000mAh battery.

The Vivax brand is well known on the Croatian market, which makes best-selling air conditioners.

Price: $329 (€295), including the keyboard

Vivax WIN TPC-89003G

The local market in Croatia will also get this 8.9-inch Windows 10 Vivax tablet, equipped with a quad-core Intel processor.

The 10-point touch IPS panel has a higher resolution than the larger Vivax Windows 10 tablet at 1920x1200p. The device also comes with quad-core Intel processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable flash memory, a 6,000mAh battery, five-megapixel rear camera, and a two-megapixel front camera.

Price: around $299 (€268), keyboard included

TrekStor SurfTab twin 10.1

This two-in-one device, created for both business and entertainment use, launched on the German market on July 30.

It sports a 10.1-inch HD IPS 16:10 screen, quad-core Intel Atom processor up to 1.83GHz, Intel HD Graphics and 2GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal flash memory, and a microSD slot. There is also a 6,500 mAh battery that should provide 10 hours of use.

TrekStor develops its products in Hessian Lorsch, Germany, while the manufacturing takes place in Asia. The devices are sold in 30 countries around the world.

Price: from €260, keyboard included

One Tablet Xcellent 10 Win 10

Another company from Germany, One, plans to launch a two-in-one Windows 10 device this month.

The One Xcellent 10 Win 10 will sport a quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device is going to be equipped with a pair of two-megapixel cameras, and a six-cell Li-Ion battery that will last for up to eight hours.

Krüger&Matz

And for a bonus: Polish brand Krüger&Matz plans to launch two Windows 10 tablets in the coming weeks.

However, the company is keeping the details of the devices close to its chest (so we haven't counted it in our list of nine native Windows 10 tablets).

Meanwhile, its Krüger&Matz Edge 1082 Windows tablet is upgradable to the latest version of Microsoft's operating system.
