    On Dec. 6, 2005, Isako Tanaka, an employee of Japanese medical equipment maker Nipro, displays the Cocoro Meter, a device that gauges stress levels by measuring the level of the enzyme amylase in saliva. The gadget sells for 19,800 yen ($164).
