Photos: Apple opens biggest store in London's Covent Garden

Inside the Aladdin's cave of Macs, iPhones and iPads...

iPhone, iPad and Mac maker Apple has opened its 300th retail shop and its largest store to date - situated in London's Covent Garden.

Located at 1 The Piazza (pictured above), the Apple Store opened at 10am on Saturday with large queues forming as Mac fans sought to grab another slice of Apple.

The ground floor of the store is a hardware display area with every Apple product on display - including 56 Macs, 30 iPads, 40 iPods and 30 iPhones, while upstairs the first floor is a dedicated training and learning space.

The Covent Garden Apple Store has rooms dedicated to Macs, iPads, iPhones and iPods, allowing customers to get hands-on with their device of choice.

The store also has a Briefing Room where local companies can make an appointment for free business workshops or to get technology advice - the first UK Apple store to offer this service.

The store is staffed by 300 employees, offering one-to-one customer support and free group and youth learning sessions and workshops in the Community Room, along with Pro Labs - in-depth training for Apple software packages such as Final Cut Pro - and free technical support from the Genius Bar.

A central courtyard area will be used to host free workshops and presentations on a daily basis. The store also has a Start Up Room to help customers get up and running with their new Apple kit.

According to Apple nearly 150 million people have visited its stores this year in 10 countries: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, the UK and the US.
