Steve Jobs takes the stage to talk up new iPods and other entertainment offerings from Apple.

Steve Jobs and iPod

Apple Computer is taking the stage Tuesday at an event it teased with the phrase "It's Showtime". At San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, CEO Steve Jobs is touting some of the company's newest products, including a new video iPod and version 7 of the iTunes music software.

Texas hold 'em

Apple will be shipping games for the new iPods, including the favorite of 21st-century poker players, Texas hold 'em. The devices will come in two models--a 30GB version for $249 and an 80GB for $349. "This is the lowest price for the iPod line and we're very excited. It does video and a whole lot more," Jobs said.

iPod search screen

The new iPods have a 60 percent brighter picture, Apple said. The will also have a search feature that allows users to look up songs or videos by name.

iPod colors

Apple is bringing back color choices for its new generation of iPod Nanos, which have more storage capacity than their older brothers.

Nano storage

The new Nano will come in three models--a 2GB version in silver only, a 4GB version in silver, blue, pink and green, and an 8GB version in black only.

New iPod Shuffle

Jobs introduced a new iPod Shuffle, calling it the world's smallest MP3 player, "a fraction of the size of the first generation." The 1GB model is priced at $79.

This little box connects a Mac or PC to your TV or home theater system over a wireless network. It allows you to download movies from iTunes to play on your TV. It's codenamed iTV, and coming in early 2007.

Networking

The new iTV device, which Jobs demonstrated onstage, has built-in 802.11 wireless, wired networking, USB, and an HDMI connector. It also comes with component video, analog audio and optical audio.

HDMI

The iTV will come with HDMI ports, as well as component video. It's scheduled to sell for $299.
