Photos: Dell serves first dual-core Xeons

Dell introduces its first batch of dual-core Xeon-powered servers.

Dell's PowerEdge 1855 blade server boasts a dual-core 2.8GHz Intel Xeon, which in many tests outperforms the single-core equivalent running at 3.6GHz.

This is one of the first batches of servers to challenge AMD's dual-core Opteron chip.

The dual-processor PowerEdge 2850 rack server is 1.75 inches tall.
