Sprint Nextel's chief operating officer, Len Lauer, sat down to chat with comedian Wali Collins at the launch party for the Sprint Music Store on Nov. 10 in New York. Collins, who performs stand-up comedy all over the world, read through a top-10 list of celebrity questions about Sprint's Power Vision phone services.

Jeff Hallock, vice president of product marketing, showed off the latest cell phone in the Sprint Nextel family that will allow customers to download music and watch TV on the go over the company's new EVDO network. Made by Samsung, the cell phone, the MM-A940, is ultra-thin and is designed to compete with Motorola's Razr V3i, which supports Apple Computer's iTunes software. The Sprint Music Store allows customers to preview titles and download them for $2.50 each. The songs are formatted for use on both compatible phones and the user's PC.

DMC, aka Darryl McDaniel, from the popular '80s rap group Run-DMC, was a surprise celebrity performer at the Sprint Nextel party celebrating the launch of its new Power Vision services. Sprint's new 3G wireless network allows customers to download music to their Sprint phones over the air and watch live TV on their phones.
