The snappily named InTouch Max GW620 makes its debut
While the launch of Google's Nexus One may have dominated discussions of Android of late, it's not the only notable device to have hit the shops bearing the OS in recent days.
This week saw LG, the world's number three mobile maker, launch its first Android device in the UK.
The handset, named the InTouch Max GW620, bears a slideout keyboard, as shown above.

The handset runs version 1.5 of Android, known as Cupcake - the most recent version of the OS is 2.1, codenamed Eclair, which can be found on Google's own Nexus One device.

The InTouch Max is being touted as a device for social media fans with features including LinkBook, which allows users to go to their friends' social networking profiles from their contact listing stored on the phone.
There's also auto-face tagging for pictures taken with the handset and a Face-to-Action feature, whereby touching a friend's face in a photo will instruct the phone to call or text message them.

The device, which measures 11cm by 5.5cm, and is 1.6cm thin, will be carried by operators T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile.
