Microsoft recently announced that its Office suite of software will be available as a cloud-based subscription service.

Office 365, which is currently available in beta form, includes online versions of Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and the unified communications platform, Lync Online.

Dynamics CRM Online will also be added when Office 365 receives its full launch next year.

There will be an SME version - for up to 25 users - along with an enterprise version. The enterprise edition will include a sliding price-per-seat scale to take into account different types of users, starting at $2 per user per month for basic services rising to $27 per user per month for the fully-featured version.
