Ski slopes

A sunlit view of the ski slopes at the 2006 Winter Olympics. On Wednesday, Alpine skier Anja Paerson won the women's slalom, giving Sweden its fourth gold of the games and its 10th medal overall.

Skating rink

The speed-skating rink has been the hub of much Olympics excitement. In the men's competition, Italian Enrico Fabris won the gold in the men's 1,500 meter, besting Americans Shani Davis and Chad Hedrick, who settled for silver and bronze, respectively. Both American athletes, however, won gold medals earlier.
