Luminetx out of Memphis, Tenn., has come up with a new method for identifying individuals. The technology is based on an infrared scan of the blood cells running through veins, which is then analyzed by a computer. Here, a real-time, infrared scan of a man's veins, projected onto his arm at The Entertainment Gathering in Los Angeles.
The $25,000 version of the vein-scanning device sold by Luminetx to hospitals.
