Photos: Sony cooks up new Walkman Beans

Sony's latest Walkman music player is shaped like a bean to fit in the palm of your hand.

Walkman Bean

Sony's Walkman Bean music player, shown larger than actual size in the lefthand image, contains 1GB of memory, a built-in USB connector and a one-line display. Sceduled for launch in October 2005, the device comes in four colors and will retail for $179.

Network Walkman

Sony's flash-based Network Walkman can store up to 1GB of data. It has a three-line display and features a super-fast battery charge--three hours of playing time for three minutes of recharging. Models come with different amounts of built-in memory. The 1GB version will sell for $199.

Psyc Network Walkman

Sony's Psyc Network Walkman MP3 player has 512MB of flash memory and, Sony says, offers up to 70 hours of continuous playback on one AAA battery. It will retail for $99.99.
