    Palm Pre

    Another of this year's hotly anticipated devices is the Palm Pre smartphone.

    The iPhone rival uses Palm's WebOS, and comes with a three-megapixel camera, wi-fi and GPS.

    The Palm Pre is currently only available on the O2 network.

    BlackBerry Storm2

    Another recent arrival on the smartphone scene is RIM's second crack at a touchscreen handset, the BlackBerry Storm2.

    The new version includes built-in GPS, wi-fi and a media player for pictures, videos and music. Its Media Sync software allows the device to sync with iTunes and Windows Media Player.

    The Storm2 is currently only available on Vodafone.
