Thousands of World Cup fans flocked to Dolores Park to watch the final game between eventual champion Italy and runner-up France.

There were probably about the same number of Italian flags and as there were French flags in Dolores Park, where thousands came to watch the World Cup for free. After France's loss, though, only the Italian flags were still waving.

Jens-Peter Jungclaussen, who paid for the giant LED screen on which thousands of Bay Area residents watched the World Cup, said he paid $7,000 for the screen and permits to hold the event in Dolores Park.
