Tech specs: Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge

Samsung has finally unveiled its long-awaited and much-rumored flagship smartphone. Well, two smartphones to be accurate. Joining the standard Galaxy S6 is the Galaxy S6 Edge that features a dual-curve display.

From robot apes to bot bartenders: The robots of CeBIT

The CeBIT trade fair in Hannover, Germany has its usual share of bots of all shapes and sizes.

The is Charlie, an ape-like bot that can crawl on all fours like a primate.

Its creators, from the German iStruct (intelligent Structures for Mobile Robots) project, say it is the first robot to be equipped with an actuated spine and feet that can "feel", allowing it to retain its balance when knocked or tilted.

The smart drones that can fly themselves without GPS

Zurich university's computer lab demonstrated autonomous drones at the recent CeBIT technology fair in Hanover, Germany.

The quadrotors are part of the Robotics and Perception Group's mission to develop machines – ground robots and drones - that can navigate by themselves.

Researchers at the Swiss university have developed the technology that allows the drone shown here to fly without relying on external infrastructure, such as GPS or motion-capture systems.

Scenes from CeBIT: Robot sculptors, smart bikes, wheat fields, and more on show in Hannover

CeBIT started life over 30 years ago as part of the Hannover Fair trade show.

While it's stayed true to its enterprise tech roots, it was eventually spun off to become a standalone event.

Since then, it's seen speakers such as Bill Gates - launching Windows 95 - take to the stage. This year whistleblower Edward Snowden is due to make an appearance.

Photos: Google's first shop lands in London

Google has chosen London's Tottenham Court Road as the test bed for a physical retail presence called 'the Google shop'.

The 'shop' is located within a store belonging to UK home electronics chain Currys PC World.
