You forward confirmation and booking details to the company, and then TripIt will automatically create daily plans for each trip. Flight, hotel, car rental, transport and restaurant bookings can all be added, edited manually and shared with colleagues or family and friends.

The $2.99 Takeoff application is an advanced weather app which combines weather data from a variety of sources to show you what's in store -- and whether you can expect delays, turbulence or poor weather on your next trip. The app includes both list and map-based weather alerts, and includes global weather graphics showing factors including wind speed, rain, temperatures and visibility ratings.

Jetsetter, an invitation-only travel deals community, has released an iPhone app which can offer you discounts for your next work trip or vacation. Ranging from flights to hotel deals and mini-breaks, you can use the app to find last-minute deals with up to 60 percent off luxury locations.
Maplets
Maplets is a handy offline map storage application which grants users access to over 10,000 maps -- both large and local -- in locations across the United States. While Google Maps is often a go-to for directions, this app is a useful accompaniment due to its local map features -- which store metro maps, national parks, state parks, bike route maps and college campuses, among others.
