The Sofshell iPad 2 case protects the back and keeps the Smart Cover in place

There are a ton of cases for the Apple iPad 2, but not that many that let you use the innovate Apple Smart Cover. The Sofshell case protects the back of your iPad, prevents slippage, and helps hold the hinge in place.

The Sofshell case for the Apple iPad 2 completely covers the back with a clear protective shell that also prevents slippage. It also has a hinge guard to help hold the Apple Smart Cover in place.

Check out my full ZDNet Mobile Gadgeteer post for all the details on this new case.

The back of the package contains lots of information on the case inside.

I took the front decorative art cover of the package and this is how you find the case inside.

As you can see, the case is clear material. Hinge openings and the camera opening are visible here.

I now have my iPad 2 inside the Sofshell case and as you can see the back is completely viewable, yet also fully protected.

There is an opening for headphone jack. You can also see how the case fits up against the hinges and holds the long hinge piece in place.

There is an opening for the Apple connection port and holes in the material to allow sound to pass through from the speaker.

I like that you can still show off the attractive back of your iPad, including the Apple logo, when your iPad is in the case.

My orange Smart Cover is not affected by using the Sofshell case.

As you can see I can still use my Smart Cover to prop up my iPad.

The other method of raising your iPad for viewing is also supported. I found I can tilt it back just a bit more too by using the non-slip nature of the caee to angle it back.
