    The Wall

Samsung's "The Wall," unveiled at CES 2018, is a modular MicroLED 146-inch TV intended for consumers. The wall's modular design allows users to tailor their screen size depending on the environment, and micrometer-scale LED lighting eradicates the need for backlights while also reducing power consumption.

    Aladin lamps

At CES 2018, Domalys launched the Aladin smart lamp, a smart home product built for the elderly. The wall-fixed "magic lamp" is equipped with motion detectors and learns the daily habits of users -- the reason being, should there be any alarming changes, an alert can be issued to help caregivers or family members know that something may be wrong.

The lamp has been available in Europe for the past two years and is now coming to the US with a price tag of $299.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR lens

Nikon was thin in terms of announcements at CES this year, but the one product the company did reveal has serious substance.

The AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR lens, with a retail price suggested of an eye-watering $12,399.95, is a professional telephoto lens. Sony's original Aibo robot dog still has followers years after being decommissioned, but now the cute gadget has returned. Stealing hearts at CES this year, Aibo -- complete with rather sweet OLED eyes -- acts more like life than its predecessor, complete with whimpers, barks, and recognition of its master.

Sadly, there's no news on whether the dog will ever leave Japanese shores.

Asus introduces Alexa voice assistant support

Upcoming 2018 Asus laptop models, including the ZenBook and VivoBook ranges, will support Amazon's Alexa voice assistant, most commonly associated with the Amazon Echo.

This support is an interesting turn for our future devices, not only as we may also be able to use our laptops in the future to control IoT products by voice, not just apps, but this may also signal a turn away from Microsoft's Cortana.
