These are currently my top 10 favorite games for the iPad 2! Whether you're a serious gamer or a novice, there should be something for everyone amongst these 10 games.

ShadowGun is perhaps the most beautifully-designed game I've seen on the iPad, by far. It's a 3rd-person shooter with rather fantastic controls. I'm not typically one for games with software joysticks, but this game pulls it off well. My only critique is the uninspired voice work. Imagine Duke Nukem, but more bored-sounding. That's this guy. Anyway, the game is really pricey, but definitely worth it.

Do you like tower defense games? If so, then don't worry about reading the rest of this description. Just go buy it. If you've never played any of the Bloons games, the gist is to keep balloons from making it to the end of course. You do this by placing dart-throwing monkeys and all sorts of other defenses along the path. As the rounds go by, things begin to get more challenging. This is easily my favorite tower defense game, outside of Pixel Junk Monsters, but that's not even for the iPad, so it doesn't count here. :)

Peggle is one of my favorite games of all time! If you've never played it, you basically shoot balls at pegs. Yeah, that's a pretty generic explanation that's sure to get you ready to bust out your credit card, but just trust me when I tell you this game is incredibly addictive and ridiculously fun.

At just $0.99, Flick Golf Extreme is a no-brainer. The graphics and game play are very smooth and extremely fun. It's really easy to master the mechanics of this game, but to score 100% on the world tour is quite challenging. To play, you flick the ball with your finger and then control certain factors about it while it's in the air. I'm impatiently waiting for the next game by these developers, because this one is just all sorts of fun!

Easily the best-looking Pinball game I think I've ever played (outside of the real deal, of course), Pinball HD functions exactly like you think it would. Oddly enough, I only really like one level in this game (the one pictured), but I like it so much, that I've played it for hours. Just imagine if you had purchased one pinball machine that you loved for your home years ago. Same deal here, I suppose. Or not? Either way, it's well worth the price at only $0.99.

Jetpack Joyride kind of came out of nowhere for me! The only thing you have to do for this entire game is use one thumb. Sounds way too simple, right? The game gets challenging, but in a good way. Also, it seems as though you might get bored quite fast with repetitive game play, but that's strangely not the case. It may be due to the constantly updating goals and upgrades you can purchase with the coins you collect. At $0.99, there's no way you won't find this game of value. One of my favorites of the year!

Aqueduct is a puzzle game where you must fit the pieces together such that water can flow from faucet to drain. Once you start getting towards the end of world 3 and into world 4, this game gets super-challenging. It's a very inventive, clever, and simple game. But don't let its humble appearance fool you. If you like puzzle games, I have no doubt this would be amongst your favorites!

Another puzzle game, Collision Effect looks beautiful. You have to figure out how to make orbs of the same color touch without touching orbs of another color. The game gets tricky pretty quickly, but it's a winner, for sure -- especially at only $0.99.

Draw Race 2 is such a unique game. You basically begin the race by drawing the path you would like your car to take. After you do 2 quick laps around the track with your finger, then the race actually starts and your car follows the path of your finger. It's quite a clever concept, though frustrating at times. You really can't just fly through every track, but that's okay! It gets you away from the typical concept of racing games.

MultiBong is like Pong on steroids. With various levels, power-ups, power-downs, and the ability to do single player or multiplayer (up to 4), if you were a fan of Pong or you just like playing games where you have to keep the ball from getting past you, I have no doubt you will absolutely love this game!
