Craigslist, the U.S. equivalent of the U.K.'s Gumtree, is a platform for classified advertisements. The Craiglist app is set up nicely -- a newspaper design and simple search functions help you in your search to find items second-hand, rather than splashing out for new products that you need.

HomeBudget tracks your expenses, income, bills-due and account balances, allows you to create charts and graphs, and if you wish, can be set up across multiple devices in a 'family' setting.

The app can also be used to set reminders for upcoming bills, currency conversion, and printing via .PDF conversion.
