    Booting up

An updated Plymouth-based splash screen welcomes users upon start-up — unless one is making use of an Intel-based graphics chip, in which case you get the regular Linux boot screen, but thankfully a fix is only a search engine query away.

In this version of Ubuntu, be prepared to sit through a couple of rotations of the propaganda slideshow. During this time, the installer was busy downloading and unpacking packages — a proper wired connection is recommended to lessen the waiting time.
