CASA Space Frame 3D

Want to do some elastic analysis of 3D space frames? CASA SF-3D lets you create 3D structural models and obtain numerical results and graphical representations for deflections and forces. Data input happens via tap and drag, but you can also use numerical input.

Friend Compass

Friend Compass helps you and your friends find a halfway point between you to meet at, and directs you there. It won the people's choice award in the Sensis API (SAPI) iOS vs. Android Hackathon.

Aussie driving log

This app helps you keep track of the kilometres you've travelled in your business car. You can see reports on the phone, or email them to yourself.

JaxtrSMS

Price: Free
Platform: Android, BlackBerry, iOS (iPhone)

JaxtrSMS is the brainchild of Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia, and he believes that the app is the next big thing. We have to admit, it sounds pretty good. It allows you to send free SMSes to any other mobile phone in the world — even to phones that don't have JaxtrSMS — and it's available across a comprehensive range of mobile OS platforms, making it accessible to nearly everyone.

Career One Job Search

Price: Free
Platform: iOS (iPad and iPhone), Android

The CareerOne app lets you apply for jobs on the go, and helps you keep up with job opportunities. It's important that Aussies set the region to Australia before they install the application.

Photo Editor Ultimate

Price: Free
Platform: BlackBerry

Of this week's "Compliments of BlackBerry" offerings, Photo Editor Ultimate was the clear winner. Usually US$1.99, it offers you a number of photo-editing tools, such as a variety of filters, cropping, rotation, painting, colour-correction and the ability to add text. You can then upload your edited images to the web.

Platform: iOS (iPhone), Android

Link helps people navigate NSW's public transport, showing a map of where you need to get off and where you currently are for buses, and setting an alarm to wake you up at your destination. If you don't like a particular form of transport, you can exclude it from your travel calculations. It also displays track work, and much more.
