Dave Linthicum from InfoWorld offers a humerous look at ten signs your SOA (service-oriented architecture) project is going well. Here are my favorites from his list:

  • You're fully funded.
  • You can call a C-Level, at any time, for any reason…he or she is a sponsor of the project.
  • You don't call your project "an experiment."
  • Can you say "on budget?"
  • You sleep well at night.

Wow! The list may be in tongue-in-cheek, but the wisdom and truth it embodies sure aren't. If your project has all these attributes, success is close.

Of course, one might ask, "How many projects exhibit all these attributes?" The answer is, "Not many."
