$2.4 bln of optical transmission equipment sold in Western Europe in 2004

Revenue from sales of optical transmission equipment in Western Europe rose by 9% in 2004, to $2.4 bln. The annual total will grow throughout the forecast period, to reach $3.5 bln in 2009, Gartner says.
