Acer unveiled a pair of sleek and shiny laptop computers, the Aspire Ethos 5943G and 8943G, both of which look like some high-end, powerful machines.

According to Notebook Italia, both Aspire Ethos models will come equipped with 220-nit CineCrystal LED screens, ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000 graphics, a Mobile Intel Express HM55 chipset, and up to 4 GB DDR3 memory.

They also both retain a 4,800mAh battery, which is actually a sour point as it only lasts 3.5 hours. However, as long as the battery is charged or you have the laptop plugged in, those fancy displays can be put to a lot of good use, either for gaming or movies, and they are 3D-capable.

There are some specs open to customization on both Acer machines, such as the choice between an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, and deciding between DVD or Blu-ray optical drives.

Here's some of what you can look for on each laptop individually:

Aspire Ethos 5943G (pictured)

  • 15.6-inch HD Acer CineCrystal LED screen (1366 x 768 resolution)
  • Windows 7 Ultimate or Home Premium OS
  • Up to 640GB of hard drive space
  • 2.1 internal speaker arrangement with subwoofer
  • 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Three USB 2.0 ports
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Multi-card reader (SD/MMC/MMCplus/MC/MS PRO/xD)
  • Webcam

Aspire Ethos 8943G

  • 18-inch HD Acer CineCrystal LED screen (1920 x 1080 resolution)
  • Windows 7 Home Premium OS
  • Can hold two 640GB hard drives
  • 5.1 internal speaker arrangement with subwoofer
  • 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Multi-card reader (SD/MMC/MMCplus/MC/MS PRO/xD)
  • Webcam

Neither a price nor a release date have been announced yet, but expect to pay more than usual for an Acer notebook with these specs.
