Acer collaborated with Microsoft to engineer the products to fit with Windows 8, according to Jim Wong, the company's corporate president.

"Interaction between human beings and computers should be easy, rather than complex. In our view, the touchscreen experience enabled by Windows 8 is a massive step forward — simply because it makes computing more intuitive by offering users a backward in interface," he said.

The Aspire S7 Ultrabook will be available in 13.1-inch and 11.6-inch models, with highlights being the laptops' Twin Air cooling system and light-sensing keyboard. The company is pushing the ultrabooks' durability, despite their slenderness and low weight. The 13.3-inch model boasts up to 12 hours of battery life, while the 11.6-inch model has up to nine hours.

The W510 and W700 tablets will have 10.1-inch and 11.6-inch displays, respectively. The former will be able to connect to a detachable keyboard dock for typing, which extends the battery life by up to 18 hours; the latter has three USB 3.0 ports for expansion.

The all-in-one touch desktops will come in two sizes: the 27-inch Aspire 7600U and the 23-inch Aspire 5600U. For a first take of the desktops, see our sister site CNET Australia.
