AMD's Athlon wins PC Magazine TINA accolade

Athlon praised for speed and impact
Written by Eugene Lacey, Contributor

AMD's Athlon has scooped the prestigious 'Product of the Year' award at PC Magazine's annual TINA awards ceremony held in London this morning.

The Technical Innovation Awards are awarded to nineteen classes of product, with two special awards: The Editorial Fellows' Award, and this year's Millennium Award. A full listing of awards and winners is now live in the PC Magazine section of ZDNet.

Commenting on the award for AMD's Athlon, PC Magazine wrote "In an industry where speed is at the heart of most new developments, the release of a processor that makes for faster PCs can only be greeted with approval. For both innovation and impact, the Athlon more than justifies its position at the head of the table, winning Product of the Year."
