ANZ CIO to begin February

in brief Newly appointed Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) CIO Anne Weatherston will begin work next month.

An ANZ spokesperson told ZDNet.com.au today that Weatherston would get her feet under the desk "mid February". Her appointment was announced in November.

It has taken the banking group over a year to replace repositioned CIO Peter Dalton.

Dalton had been reassigned to general manager of innovation, just days after announcing 800 ANZ staff would go by Christmas of 2008. Since that time, Dalton's role has been jointly filled by group managing director of operations, technology and shared services, David Cartwright, and deputy CIO Kieran Griffiths.
