AOL goes marketing at Best Buy

America Online said it has struck a marketing agreement to promote its online services throughout 500 Best Buy stores. AOL will promote its standard online service and its recently launched AOL for Broadband features to Best Buy shoppers.

America Online said it has struck a marketing agreement to promote its online services throughout 500 Best Buy stores. AOL will promote its standard online service and its recently launched AOL for Broadband features to Best Buy shoppers.

The promotion comes days after AOL unveiled an upgrade of its service in an effort to prevent its subscribers from defecting to another broadband provider. AOL is facing expected losses in its 35 million membership base as the market for dial-up continues to constrict.
