Apple designer returns

Apple Computer has hired back Guy "Bud" Tribble, one of the key members of the original Mac design team who helped craft its user interface. Tribble, who helped found Next and most recently was developing Linux-based software at Eazel, will be vice president of software technology, reporting to Senior Vice President Avie Tevanian. "Bud is one of the industry's top experts in software design and object-oriented programming," Tevanian said in a statement. --Ian Fried, Special to ZDNet News
