Apple tutorials: great free training

Aperture tutorial
I attended the Atlantic City Area Mac User Group (ACAMUG) meeting on Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the turn out and audience. Regular readers know that I'm a big advocate of Mac User Groups (MUGs) and encourage users to find and attend one in your area.

A staffer from the local A.C. Apple Store was on hand to present iPhoto and Aperture and I learned about something valuable at the meeting: Apple's tutorials. While presenting Aperture the gentleman kept referring the audience the Aperture tutorial section on the Web site. Turns out that it's chock full of video tips and well worth your time.

The Aperture tutorial site alone contains 50 video tutorials and 9 text tutorial. Similar free video tutorials are available for iLife, iWork, Final Cut Studio, Server and Express.

Lynda.com is another excellent resource for video tutorials for the Mac. Access to 28,000+ videos (covering more than 416 topics) costs US$25 per month or US$250 per year. Lynda.com also offers free access to over 3,596 movies.
