AT&T Corp. (NYSE: T) today released a new version of instant messaging software that it says will allow users to talk to both America Online Inc.'s (NYSE: AOL) Instant Messenger program and Microsoft Corp.'s (Nasdaq: MSFT) MSN Messenger. AT&T's IM Here service uses technology from Tribal Voice. AOL has recently fought attempts by competing messaging programs to contact users of its service, which dominates the market with more than 40 million subscribers. -- Margaret Kane, ZDNet News
