Beijing releases software control regulations
Enforcing information security and crack down on what it claimed was harmfulinformation contained in software, Beijing has released new regulationsrequiring computer software developers and vendors to register with theMinistry of Information Industry (MII) before launching any software on themainland. Signalling their resolve against software privacy, the newregulations also prohibit the import and export of unregistered computersoftware to and from the mainland.
