Be careful with Apple's latest OS update for the iPhone if you're relying on tethering hacks or unlock.

It seems that the new 3.1 iPhone OS update kills both tethering hacks and the ultrasn0w unlock hack. Be especially careful since there might be no way to undo the iPhone update - update and be damned!

A recent tweet on iPhone enthusiast MuscleNerd’s Twitter account revealed that those with unlocked iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S devices need a pre-hacked 3.1 firmware with baseband 4.26.08. There will be a release with this soon.

It's pretty clear that Apple has every intention of making the iPhone as hard to tinker with as possible.
