Brocade opens new Sydney office

Brocade has opened its new head office in "Innovation Place", at 100 Arthur Street in North Sydney — the very same location as NBN Co's corporate offices.

The company's previous head office was in St Leonards, and the organisation also has additional offices in Melbourne and Canberra. The new location has a testing lab for Brocade customers to test out the company's storage and Ethernet equipment. Brocade's regional director for Australia and New Zealand Graham Schultz said that the decision to expand into a larger office was because the Asia Pacific region, as a whole, had been identified as a growth market.

"It has been 12 years since Brocade established an entity in ANZ, and since then we’ve established a strong business ecosystem with our partners and customers," Schultz said. "The investment we have made in this new facility is aimed at continuing our market momentum and ensuring that Brocade and its partners play a very full and innovative role in the development of the networked economy in the region."

The company has 30 staff and 10 premier channel partners in Australia. Globally, the company reported better than expected first-quarter earnings, in February, of US$93 million. The company said that this was due to the demand for storage products, but said that enterprise and federal government sales had been soft.
