Brother aims notebook at faithful followers

Kyodai today launched a Brother multimedia notebook designed for business presentations.

The Brother Expression costs £1,700 + VAT for a 120MHz Pentium-based model with 8Mb RAM, 810Mb removable hard drive, 11.3-inch dual-scan screen, six-speed CD-ROM drive, and removable NiMH battery. A 133MHz model is also available, and there is the option of a 10.4-inch TFT display and 1Gb hard drive. Windows 95 and Lotus SmartSuite software are bundled with the machine.

"We've been in the PC business for 10 years," said John Carter, managing director of Kyodai. "We have a large base of corporate customers and this is aimed at them."
