BT, Microsoft ink broadband pact

Britain's dominant fixed-line telecom operator, BT Group, said Wednesday that it signed a formal alliance with U.S. software giant Microsoft to develop more high-speed Internet services.

The alliance puts BT on an equal footing with Microsoft's other telecom partners around the world--South Korea's KT Corp. in Asia and Verizon Communications in the United States. Read the full story. --Reuters
