Business view inflation and trade deficit as top threats in 2005

94% of business who responded to Interland Business Barometer survey say their businesses have Internet access, and 70% cite email as very or somewhat critical to their business. As far as 2005 priorities, 79% of business leaders name revenue growth, 70% customer retention.

94% of business who responded to Interland Business Barometer survey say their businesses have Internet access, and 70% cite email as very or somewhat critical to their business. As far as 2005 priorities, 79% of business leaders name revenue growth, 70% customer retention. 46% expense reduction. As far as threats, the business owners named rising inflation (44%), the current trade deficit and the collapse of the dollar's value (40%) and energy and other supply shortages (40%). 70% said e-mail is critical to their business, with 72% communicating with existing customers, 56% with partners and business associates, 53% with potential buyers, 36% with employees, 33% to get and request bids, and only 14% said they don't use e-mail in their business.
