Capgemini appoints new Brazil head

French IT outsourcing firm Capgemini has appointed a new leader for its Brazil operations.

Maurizio Mondani has replaced Paulo Marcelo, who joined the IT outsourcing company in 2007 and had been managing the Brazilian business since 2014.

Mondani reports to Walter Cappilati, Capgemini's Latin America head. The executive has been working at the company for over a decade and held several senior roles at its Italy office before being appointed as Eastern Europe head in 2015.

"Mondani successfully led the Capgemini's operations in Italy and Eastern Europe and has a proven track record of profitable growth generation," said Cappilati.

"With the same passion, he will accelerate the development of Capgemini's services within applications and infrastructure in Brazil and in key sectors such as financial services, consumer products, retail and international accounts," he added.

Earlier this year, the French company announced a multimillion-dollar investment in a new datacenter in Brazil to provide private cloud services to large customers based in Latin America.
