Chinese semiconductor market to grow 20% in 2005

In the first half of 2004, the semiconductor market in China was stronger-than-expected, growing by more than 50% in terms of domestic demand. The second half will see a slowing in the rate of increase, registering approximately 30-35% growth YTY.

In the first half of 2004, the semiconductor market in China was stronger-than-expected, growing by more than 50% in terms of domestic demand. The second half will see a slowing in the rate of increase, registering approximately 30-35% growth YTY. In 2005, the China IC market is expected to slow even further and grow just over 20% in terms of domestic demand, according to iSuppli. The market is projected to grow just under 15% in 2006, but will rebound and increase by under 20% in 2007 and around 20% in 2008, according to iSuppli report.
