Compaq key to dollarDEX

SINGAPORE – Under this agreement, every Compaq Presario sold in Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong will have a dedicated key that provides an Internet connection to dollarDEX, where users can shop and purchase unit trusts, housing and car loans, motor and travel insurance and other financial products.

Chris Firth, regional marketing director of dollarDEX, commented, “Research indicates that Compaq Presario users are more likely to use e-commerce services than the average PC user, so this is a good match of demand and supply.”

According to the joint press release by Compaq and dollarDEX, this alliance is part of dollarDEX ‘s ‘guerrilla marketing’ campaigns, which was placed fourth in Anderson Consulting’s e50 dotcom last year, and with most of its first-round funding still in place, the company is now on a hiring and acquisition campaign.
